Here is my latest for the Painting for Good Causes folks. So you can understand what this is all about, I'm excerpting an email from Laurie Anspach - the artist who got me involved with this group: "The story with the foster children portraits is that we are connected with a nonprofit, The Heart Gallery, that has offices in each state throughout the Country. We work with more than a dozen of these offices, so far. They exhibit the portraits that we do in public spaces such as art galleries, art walks, libraries, and more, and then families learn that the children need to be adopted and adopt the child. Your portrait goes a long way to making that happen. So we are part of a larger team that makes a big difference in the life of many children. Just this week, I got an update from two of the Heart Galleries, following their National Adoption day, last month, and they told me the following: " Our adoption day was amazing, we set a record for the state with 61 adoptions!" "The adoptions are happening!" Additionally, after the child is adopted they are gifted their portrait, so they will remember the rest of their lives how you helped them! " So now you know. This is Danielle. Isn't she lovely? |
